Packet Radio

One very convenient way to become QRV using the AX.25 protocol, if you don’t have an old Terminal Node Controller, TNC, in you junk box is to buy a TNC-Pi from Coastal ChipWorks. The setup using a Raspberry Pi is more or less straight forward regardless if you plan to use it for APRS or traditional Packet Radio traffic or if you give TCP/IP via AX.25 a try.

The TNC-Pi runs in Kiss Mode meaning you need a computer to use it, but hey – the Raspberry Pi is a computer so that is no problem at all!

More to come about different ways how to use a TNC-Pi in a near future.
